How your information is held and protected
Confidentiality sits at the heart of therapy. This page explains what personal information I collect, why, and how it is looked after.
Who I am
I am Justine Aspey, a Systemic and Family Therapist practising as Conch Relational Therapy. For the purposes of UK data protection law, I am the data controller for the information described here. You can contact me about anything on this page at justine@
What I collect
When you contact me through this website, by email or by phone, I collect the details you choose to share: your name, contact details, and a brief description of what brings you here. If we go on to work together, I also keep brief session records, as required by my professional accreditation.
How it is used
Your information is used only to respond to your enquiry, to arrange and provide therapy, and to meet my professional and legal obligations. I do not use your details for marketing, and I never sell or share them with third parties for their own purposes.
Confidentiality
Everything you share in sessions is treated in confidence. The only exceptions are those required by law or professional duty; for example, where there is a serious risk of harm to you or to someone else. Wherever possible, I would discuss this with you first.
How long it is kept
Session records are kept securely for the period required by my professional body and insurers, and then confidentially destroyed. Enquiry emails from people who do not go on to become clients are deleted after a reasonable period.
Your rights
You have the right to ask what information I hold about you, to request a copy of it, and to ask for it to be corrected or deleted where the law allows. You also have the right to raise a concern with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
This website
This site does not use advertising or tracking cookies. If you send a message through the contact form, it is delivered to me by the website's hosting provider and treated as described above.
